Iran short animation ‘Run Rostam Run’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 27th edition of Saint Louis Film Festival in the US.
The short animation directed by Hossein Molayemi, is to represent Iran at the American film event. ‘Run Rostam Run’ will attend the competition section of the festival.
The 11-minute animation is a free, comic adaptation of the tragic story of Rostam and Sohrab. Rostam, the national epic hero, must travel in time and come to modern Tehran in order to make up for what he has done to his son, Sohrab. While in Tehran, he cannot decide whether to accomplish his goal through a legal way or an illegal one.
'Run Rostam Run' succeeded to stand among the 8 award winners at the 8th Edukino Film Festival in Poland and won the best film award at the Wular Lake International Short-Film Festival in India.
It has also gone or been selected to go on screen at the Athens Animfest in Greece, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival in South Korea, the New Horizon International Youth Festival of Short Cinema and Animation in Russia, the Cinema Perpetuum Mobile International Film Festival in Belarus, the Golden Kuker International Animation Film Festival in Bulgaria, the Prokuplje Short Film Festival in Serbia, the River Film Festival and the La Guarimba International Film Festival in Italy.
The St. Louis International Film Festival is an annual film festival in St. Louis, Missouri, which has been running since 1992. The coordinating organization changed its name to "Cinema St. Louis" in 2003. The festival screens approximately 300 films over a period of 10 days during November.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for November 1-11 in Saint Louis, the US.
